Quality Control Technician
+ Position Description
This position is responsible for supporting the development of metrology systems, performing first article inspections, documentation of quality inspection processes, quality database management, and programming of coordinate measurement machines to ensure customer product quality requirements are met.
This position will be a fulltime regular position, Monday – Friday, with overtime as required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience using metrology equipment, including complex and costly test equipment
- Knowledge or interest in understanding quality standards and writing quality test procedures
- Possesses analytical and problem solving skills
- Experience reading and understanding part drawings/prints.
- Ability to identify problems, find root cause, and draw on various sources to solve problems
- Understanding, knowledge, and proficiency with Microsoft Office systems (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Ability and experience in using DataMetrics or similar software to support production day to day activity
- Strong understanding of metrology and measurement/inspection systems
- Ability to follow detailed procedures and ensure accuracy in documentation and data
- Ability to manage multiple projects and conflicting priorities
- Motivation to learn
Job Responsibilities:
- Knowledge and development of site metrology systems and equipment
- Complete incoming inspections, along with quarantine and release of purchased product
- Knowledge of purchased components, quality standards, and quality test procedures
- Completing first article inspections, Gage R and R studies, and conducting reviews
- Programming of coordinate measurement machines
- Assist engineers with measurement of factory experiment components
- Develop and present written project reports such as charts and graphics, using a variety of software programs and querying of network databases
- Utilization of statistical analysis software
- Create and update quality test procedures and reports; Ex: test procedures, GRR studies, FAI reports.
- Complete work assignments with minimal direct supervision
- Work with all levels of support staff
- Perform other duties as assigned
