+Metrology Calibration Technician
Position Description:
The Metrology Calibration Technician manages all aspects of the metrology system. This includes installing new test equipment, maintaining existing equipment, and performing repairs, when warranted. Performs and manages all calibrations on-site with an effective metrology documentation system.
This person reports to the Quality Inspection Supervisor. This position is a full-time, regular position Monday – Friday, with overtime as required.
Qualifications:
- Associate degree or bachelor’s degree in electrical, electronics, mechanics, or equivalent experience
- Ability to utilize and interface with software to support day to day activities and troubleshoot quality systems. Able to adapt to various computer systems and software to enable efficient data gathering, analysis, and reporting
- Understand and apply concepts of ISO 9001, ISO 13485, and 21 CFR Part 11 and 820
- Analytical thinking and detail oriented
- Organizing, Planning, and Prioritizing Work – Able to develop specific goals and plans to prioritize organize and accomplish work independently
- Able to manage multiple projects
- Knowledge of various products in company
- Ability to determine causes of operating errors and decide course of correction
- Experience in conducting tests, inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality and performance
- Communicates with appropriately interpersonal and written skills
Job Responsibilities:
Technical Knowledge
- Calibrate, maintain and repair measurement and test equipment with traceability to NIST
- Create and maintain procedures for calibration of equipment
- Resolve issues with test equipment/systems as warranted
- Adequate knowledge of the various products in the company portfolio and commit to delivering quality products to our customers
- Apply concepts of metrology and measurement/inspection systems best practices
- Performing routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed
- Conducting tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance
- Determining causes of operating errors and determine course correction
Project Management and Planning
- Develop time management skills, with an ability to balance demand from various projects
- Conduct business with integrity
- Establish and maintain a network of external suppliers capable of performing calibrations where internal capability is not available
- Develop and maintain communication with equipment suppliers regarding instrument performance and improvement options
- Assist in long-range planning on inspection equipment needs; Provide quarterly updates on Metrology status (number of instruments, Out of Spec forms waiting for approvals, etc.)
Continuous Improvement
- Work closely with production and engineering teams on the design and development of new test methods and equipment
- Provide corrective action on any audit findings found within the metrology system; Participate in internal audits and investigations of product to identify and correct issues causing non-compliance of product to specification
- Make changes to necessary procedures when improvements are made
Documentation
- Maintenance and documentation of the entire metrology system with accurate and detailed calibration records
- Understand and follow aspects of the ISO certifications at ComDel Innovation
QMS, EMS and Safety Compliance
