+ Process Engineer

Position Description:

Process Engineering is responsible for manufacturing process development and design, along with the implementation of processes into commercial production and continued overseeing of processes.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering or equivalent technical experience. Has knowledge of practical applications of engineering science and technology
  • Eligible to work in the U.S.
  • Able to travel, including outside of the U.S.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with process flowcharts and process simulations
  • Computer-Aided Drafting (CAD) and Process Simulation software experience is a plus
  • Able to read and interpret prints, drawing and diagrams
  • Experience with various software programs to support the creation of documents, presentations, reports (Ex: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc. )
  • Analytical thinker and Detail Oriented
  • Demonstrated leadership ability to manage multiple processes and projects
  • Communicates with appropriate interpersonal and written skills
  • Organizing, Planning, and Prioritizing Work – Able to develop specific goals and plans to prioritize. organize and accomplish work. Possess good basic work habits, promptness, and dependability. Self-started, and motivated individual who works independently
  • Is self-directed and maintains professional behavior

Job Responsibilities:

Technical Knowledge

  • Develop manufacturing processes from inception through to start-up and technician certification
  • Assess processes, take measurements, and interpret data
  • Make component design for manufacturing (DFM) recommendations to customers
  • Selects and recommends test/measurement procedures or development of test/measurement methods
  • Prepares designs, drawings, plans, and specifications for projects, engineered systems, technical equipment, or components
  • Design experiments to test hypothesis to develop or improve manufacturing processes
  • Read current literature, talk with colleagues, participate in educational programs, attending meetings, attend workshops, or participate in professional organizations or conferences to keep abreast of developments in the manufacturing field
  • Analyze and solve complex problems. Use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems. Must effectively use risk-based decision making to reduce negative quality issues
  • Collect, summarize, and report technical information to internal audiences and customers

Project Management and Planning

  • Develop time management skills, with an ability to balance demand among various projects
  • Conduct business with ethics and integrity
  • Communicate manufacturing capabilities, schedules, or information to facilitate staffing priorities

Continuous Improvement

  • Assess the capability of manufacturing processes to develop or improve
  • Gain adequate knowledge of the carious products in the company portfolio and commit to delivering quality products to our customers
  • Perform risk assessments, including estimates of failure modes, effects, rate of occurrences, and controls and detection of such failures. Assist Quality Engineers in working through these risk assessment efforts
  • Conduct and lead continuous quality improvement and cost reduction programs (continuous improvement efforts)
  • Recommend process modifications to reduce process variation and eliminate non-conformance’s
  • Provide process documentation and operating instructions which also support quality requirements as specified by customers
  • Apply change management procedures to changes to ensure that product quality is not impacted for a given change

Documentation

  • Follow directions and procedures
  • Gain and understanding of good manufacturing and documentation practices (GMP/GDP)
  • Determine root causes of failures or recommend changes in designs, tolerances, or processing methods , using statistical tools and procedures
  • Evaluate nonconforming materials or products and make informed and data-driven decisions on dispositions
  • Prepare reports summarizing information or trends related to manufacturing performance to specifications and quality standards
  • Assist in the creation and/or identification of training materials on new processes for training personnel
  • Complete employee training and certification

QMS, EMS and Safety Compliance

  • Know the significant environmental aspects and proper handling for your area
  • Know the environmental policy and what it means in terms of benefits and consequences
  • Follow correct waste handling procedures and timely completion of housekeeping duties
  • Keep current with company’s required safety training
